Local development

Expose localhost with a public URL.

A localhost tunnel lets people and services on the internet reach an app running on your Mac, without deploying it first.

What is a localhost tunnel?

Localhost normally means that an app is available only on your own computer. A tunnel creates an encrypted connection from that local port to a public endpoint. You can then share the endpoint with a teammate, open it on a phone or give it to a webhook provider.

Pervio handles the connection from a native macOS menu bar app. Choose the port where your local server is running and Pervio gives you a public HTTPS URL.

How to tunnel localhost on Mac

  1. Run your local app. Start Angular, React, Vite, a Rails server or any other local HTTP service.
  2. Open Pervio. Click the P icon in the macOS menu bar and choose the local port.
  3. Share the URL. Open the generated HTTPS address from another device or send it to someone else.

Useful for real work

Show a feature before a staging deploy, test a responsive layout on your phone or let a client review the current build.

Ready for webhooks

Use the public URL with Stripe, GitHub or another provider while your application continues running on localhost.

Keep development local. Share only what matters.

Pervio is free to start on macOS, with one real tunnel and no command line required.
